Jelly babies save lives – and so can you!

Each May JDRF celebrates Jelly Baby Month, with cute Jelly Baby themed merchandise appearing in stores, schools, shopping centres and workplaces across Australia. Jelly Baby Month is an easy and fun way to get involved in helping to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. Last year Jelly Baby Month raised over $858,000 for diabetes research. This year Jelly Baby Month is celebrating its 10th birthday and, with your help, we’re hoping to mark the occasion by raising over $1million!

You can get involved in Jelly Baby Month either through your school, as a volunteer or by purchasing Jelly Baby merchandise through one of our retail supporters including: Woolworths or Safeway supermarkets, Amcal Pharmacies or buy directly through our online store.

Jelly Baby Day

Get your school involved by arranging a fun and educational Jelly Baby Day in May to increase awareness of type 1 diabetes amongst the school community and raise money for vital research.

There are lots of different ways you and your school can participate.  You can pick one or a combination of the ideas from the suggestions below or come up with your own fun way to celebrate Jelly Baby Day.

  1. Have a non-uniform day (dress in Jelly Baby colours) for a gold coin donation
  2. Hold a stall to sell Jelly Baby merchandise or confectionary
  3. Hold a special assembly to talk about type 1 diabetes
  4. Get your school involved in a colouring-in competition.

Get involved in Jelly Baby Month

Volunteering to help sell Jelly Baby merchandise or confectionary during May is a great way to raise money for diabetes research - each item you sell brings us closer to a cure.

Volunteers are vital to the success of the campaign and there are many different ways you can help. Pick one or more ideas that best suit you:

  1. Sell Jelly Baby merchandise or confectionary at work. Our colourful point-of-sale boxes make it very easy, just put the box at reception or have it on your desk.
  2. Organise a Jelly Baby stall at your local shopping centre or train station.
  3. Get your child’s school involved in Jelly Baby Day.
  4. Order Jelly Baby merchandise or confectionary to sell to your friends and family.

For more information on how to get involved please call or email your local JDRF office or the Jelly Baby Month Coordinator in your state. Their contact information can be found here.
