Alex Williams Training Oct08 100x100 An Unforgettable Saharan StoryOne normal evening in 2008, Alex Williams, a fit 51 year old from Melbourne who has had type 1 diabetes for 34 years, was commuting home from work when he saw a newspaper story that changed the course of his life.

The article described a phenomenal race called the Marathon des Sables (MdS) and Alex decided on the spot that he would give it a go.
