JDRF Insulin Pump Grants
Following the great success of our 2006 Insulin Pump Grants program where eighteen children with type 1 diabetes were provided with insulin pumps, JDRF is pleased to announce that we will be running the program again in 2007.
Health Care Professionals are invited to apply for a grant to cover the cost of an Insulin Pump for families who would benefit from Insulin Pump Therapy but are unable to afford the upfront cost.
This program is provided through support from children’s charity The Bestest Foundation.

KIDSAC
The JDRF KIDSAC program provides Diabetes Educators with a free
backpack for families with children newly diagnosed with type
1 diabetes. The packs contain valuable information including
the book Caring for Diabetes in Children and Adults: A
Parents Manual, a cute Rufus or Ruby
teddy bear for the child and a blood glucose testing meter.
The KIDSAC
Program is available to Diabetes Educators who are JDRF Professional
Members. KIDSAC is supported by Accu-Chek
and sanofi
aventis.

Youth
Ambassadors
The JDRF Youth Ambassador program provides children with type
1 diabetes and their families opportunities to meet other JDRF
families, participate in fun activities, visit their local and
federal parliamentarians, speak with the media and tell their
story. JDRF provides development to Youth Ambassadors to help
build their confidence and develop new skills.

Ambassador Application Forms.

D1Connect Peer Support Service
D1Connect is a telephone peer-support referral service run by
volunteers at JDRF. Newly diagnosed families and individuals
who call the service are put in touch with JDRF members who
live in their local area and who can share their experiences.
The D1Connect
service operates on Wednesdays out of the JDRF Melbourne office
on 03 9696 3866. |

Travel Grants
JDRF provides grants for Researchers, Diabetes Educators and
other Allied Health and Nursing Professionals to allow travel
to research institutions or scientific meetings, for the purpose
of furthering their expertise in the study of type 1 diabetes.
