JDRF is the 2018 Melbourne Cup Carnival Pin & Win charity partner

JDRF is the Melbourne Cup Carnival official Pin & Win charity partner again in 2018!

Last year, thanks to the generosity of the community and Flemington racegoers, the Pin & Win partnership raised $420,000 to support JDRF to drive ongoing research to benefit people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), and we’re hoping to build on that success in 2018.

We have some new faces as our ambassadors for this year’s Pin & Win campaign – Grace (8) and her mum, Toula. Grace was diagnosed with T1D at just six years old. Her little brother Daniel (2) was diagnosed a year later after Toula noticed similar symptoms Grace had gone through, in Daniel. Read more about Grace and Toula here.

 Pin and win volunteers

Meet our ambassadors

We're currently seeking volunteers!

The Pin & Win campaign will commence in early September, with pins available at Flemington and for online purchase here.

Right now, we're looking for keen volunteers to help us with selling pins at the event days, leading teams of volunteers and general admin.

If you're available on one, two or more of the key races days, we'd love to hear from you. Plus, you'll get to experience the thrilling atmosphere of these iconic race meets for free!

We are very excited to be involved in such a prestigious and global event and this partnership will help us to increase awareness about type 1 diabetes and what our community and researchers do!

If you have any further questions about volunteering for Pin & Win, please don’t hesitate to contact us at or phone 03 8374 6201.

More about PIn & Win
Since 1995, sales of the souvenir pins have raised more than $4.5 million for charity by leveraging the iconic Emirates Melbourne Cup event and its Flemington location. Funds raised will help JDRF continue our research progress, keeping people with type 1 diabetes healthier for longer, while they wait for a cure.
